De La Salle 2, Dougherty Valley 0

In a rematch of last season’s North Coast Section Division I championship game, De La Salle got sweet revenge on Dougherty Valley thanks to goals from Joey Ospeck and Faris Shlah. 

Brody Tingley had an assist, and Ellis Toal had two saves in goal for De La Salle, which improved to 6-2-1 and 1-1 in the East Bay Athletic League. 

Dougherty Valley dropped to 2-7-1, 0-2.

Mountain View 4, Saratoga 1

Last season’s NorCal Division II champions were tied 1-1 with Saratoga with 15 minutes to play, but Mountain View (8-0-2) rallied down the stretch to remain unbeaten and untied in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League’s De Anza Division. 

Javier Teeter scored the game-winning goal for the Spartans, while Ethan Ding tallied two goals. Nicco Garzino scored the opening tally to set the tone for Mountain View.

Patrick McGuirk made a key save on a Saratoga breakaway with about 16 minutes remaining in the game to keep the score at 1-1 and set the table for the Spartans’ late scoring surge.

The Falcons fell to 3-6-1, 0-4.

Serra 1, Bellarmine 0

Quincy Huang scored the only goal of the game as Serra (5-2-2, 1-1-1) knocked off last year’s Central Coast Section Division I runner-up to earn its first West Catholic Athletic League win this season. Lorcan Breslin assisted on the score, and Luca Bertino had six saves to secure a clean sheet for the Padres. Bellarmine dropped to 4-5, 0-3.

St. Francis 1, Archbishop Mitty 1

The Lancers (7-0-2, 2-0-1) and Monarchs (2-3-3, 1-0-2) finished off 80-plus minutes right where they started in this WCAL tilt. Rohan Gohel scored the lone goal for St. Francis, and Tomas Santa Gadea recorded six saves to help preserve the tie for the Lancers. 

Westmont 3, Willow Glen 1

Westmont (2-3-3, 1-2) got back on track amid a tough start to a season in which they are following last year’s CCS Division I semifinalist squad. The Warriors picked up their first win in the Blossom Valley Athletic League’s Mt. Hamilton Division thanks to goals from Adirano Irias, Dylan Sing and Nolan Reyes. Julio Santos, Rasmus Koeppen and Gio Pacheco had the assists. Willow Glen fell to 5-3-1, 2-1.

St. Francis 2, Archbishop Mitty 1

The Lancers scored two early goals to take control of this West Catholic Athletic League tilt and seize control of the league race in the early going. Grier Gowdy and Penelope Correa scored in the first 20 minutes to set the tone for St. Francis. Christian Babcock was in San Jose and has all the details here. 

Aragon 1, Carlmont 0 

The Dons (3-2-4, 2-1-1) got a second-half goal from Tessa Matthews to pick up a solid home win in the Peninsula Athletic League’s Bay Division. Carlmont dropped to 5-3-2, 2-1-1.

Bishop O’Dowd 9, Alameda 0

O’Dowd (5-0, 2-0) continued its dominant start to the season, winning its second game in the West Alameda County Conference’s Foothill Division. Abby Forsgren led the way for O’Dowd, scoring three goals and adding three assists. Chloe Keating had two goals and a pair of assists. Ana Pintard, Rylie Pintard, Kiki Lee Olson and Beatrice Wheeler scored goals, and Audrew Lewis, Ava Johnson, Katelyn Wong and Remi Hayes had assists. Though she wasn’t on the scoresheet, O’Dowd coach Mark Savvides gave Parker Bridgman a shoutout for a strong performance. The Dragons have scored 36 goals and conceded zero this season. Alameda dropped to 5-4, 1-1.

Menlo-Atherton 2, Hillsdale 0

M-A (5-4-2, 1-3) picked up its first win in PAL Bay play thanks to a pair of second-half goals from Alex Alvarado and Emma Holtz. June Wagner assisted on the first goal, and Sammy Ruiz picked up the helper on the second. Hillsdale dropped to 2-5-2, 0-2-1.

Woodside 3, Burlingame 1

Woodside (5-2-2, 2-1-1) went up 2-0 in the first half and hung on in the second to secure a road win at Burlingame (2-5-3, 2-2-1). Ellie Sala and Kahlie McKee scored in the opening half for Woodside, and Piper Oviedo-Wollenberger got on the scoresheet in the final frame. Emma Downing assisted on McKee’s goal.
