RICHMOND – A 49-year-old Richmond man and ex-high school volleyball coach is facing charges he had unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, authorities said.
On Jan. 23, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office charged Timothy Logan with two counts of committing lewd acts with a minor, one count of contacting a minor to commit a felony and one count of annoying or molesting a child.
The charges preceded Logan’s arrest on Feb. 2 in Antioch. He remains in custody on $225,000 bail.
On Sept. 17, 2025, a parent reported a suspected inappropriate relationship involving a staff member and a student at Kennedy High School, according to the Richmond Police Department.
Logan was fired the same day.
Detectives opened an investigation and developed probable cause to arrest Logan, police said, adding that forensic examinations of digital evidence led to additional criminal charges.
