Big Bunny 5k
Participants in the Big Bunny 5k on March 7 can run, walk, or hop their way through a 3.1-mile course through the streets of Cupertino, starting and finishing at the Cupertino Civic Center. Participants ages 7 and under will take a kid-friendly course on Library Field.
Registration is $50 for Cupertino residents and $55 for non-residents at https://bit.ly/4qHiogj. The Kids Fun Run is $30 for residents and $35 for non-residents
Climate video contest
Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action (SVYCA) recently launched its Youth Climate Video Contest for aspiring filmmakers ages 12-18 from Santa Clara County to submit short videos highlighting Coyote Valley, farming and food systems, nature-based climate solutions and personal connections to nature.
The youth-led nonprofit created the contest as a platform for students to take informed climate action and share their ideas to inspire more initiatives within their own communities.
Video submissions should be 2-5 minutes long. Entries will be reviewed by a panel of judges made up of local leaders and climate professionals. Winning entries will be announced April 22 and will receive $100-$500, and the winners will be screened at an event in mid-May.

“It’s exciting to see Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action launch this nature-themed video contest,” said Jackie McBride, the authority’s community investment specialist, in a release. “By giving young people a creative platform to share their priorities, they’re helping cultivate the next generation of environmental change-makers.”
