A man who was assaulted and robbed in San Francisco has died from his injuries, police said Monday, and a suspect now faces a homicide charge.
The attack was reported Feb. 5 near Bush and Taylor streets, in the Lower Nob Hill neighborhood. The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries; he died on Thursday, Feb. 19.
Earlier on Feb. 19, the suspect was taken into custody, police said. The 34-year-old man was arrested near Leavenworth and Eddy streets, in the Tenderloin, and booked on suspicion of aggravated assault, robbery, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. There was also an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of San Mateo County, police said.
After the victim died, the charges were amended to include homicide.
It was San Francisco’s fourth homicide in two weeks.
