Cities across the Bay Area are celebrating Holi, the springtime Hindu festival, traditionally celebrated at March’s full moon, that signifies the triumph of good over evil. From neon dance parties to events with free Holi beverages and color-throwing, every style of celebration is taking place around the Bay this Holi. The day with the most events scheduled is Saturday, March 7, but other celebrations extend the festivities throughout the month.

All-white neon party with face paints: 10 p.m. Friday, March 6-1:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Myth Lounge, 152 Post St., San Jose. Wear all white to this Holi party featuring Bollywood beats and neon face paint and props. 21+ only,  $18 and up. eventbrite.com

Fremont Holi festival: 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, March 7, Washington High School, 38442 Fremont Blvd., Fremont. AIA Holi Fest of Colors: 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, March 7, Discovery Meadow Park, 180 Woz Way, San Jose. Nonstop dancing, food booths, and free color packets and thandai — an Indian cold drink made with milk, spices and nuts — are on offer at this festive celebration. $11, kids under 7 are free. aiaevents.org

Oakland Holi festival: 1-5 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 1255 Seventh St., Oakland. Non Stop Bhangra hosts a daytime Holi party featuring interactive dance lessons, performers, DJs, dhol drummers, bars, food vendors, color throws, a kid-friendly arcade and more. White clothing encouraged. eventbrite.com
