Blaze causes Buddhist temple roof collapse Today Us News


SAN JOSE — A three-alarm fire broke out at a Buddhist temple early Monday morning, causing part of the roof to collapse, authorities said.

The blaze was called in around 5:37 a.m. for the mixed-use, two-story structure located on the 90 block of Foss Avenue, according to the San Jose Fire Department.

The temple, Chua Duyen Giac, was previously damaged by a fire that broke out in May 2024, displacing four people.

Firefighters said that they fought the flames using aerial master streams. They also secured the building’s utilities.
