SAN JOSE — Five people were wounded in a shooting that broke out late Sunday at a busy downtown intersection, police said, capping a day that saw two men shot and killed a few blocks away in the early morning hours, all amid increased crowds for Super Bowl-related festivities.

The latest shooting was reported at 10:47 p.m. near North Market Street and West Santa Clara Street, according to the San Jose Police Department.
