The Los Gatos Kiwanis Club is hosting a meet and greet at Gali Vineyards tasting room in downtown Los Gatos on Thursday, March 26, 5-7 p.m.
The Los Gatos chapter of the Kiwanis—a global organization of volunteers—was established over 100 years ago. Local Kiwanians organize events like the Hippity Hop Easter Egg Hunt; Kiwanis Special Games; monthly trail cleanups; backpack, clothing and holiday drives; scholarship and awards ceremonies; student leadership programs; and the Holiday Market.
Their signature event is the Los Gatos Art and Wine Festival in September. Funds raised go to various charities, both locally and in the Los Gatos Kiwanis’ division. Last year the Los Gatos club donated approximately $75,000, about $30,000 of that in scholarships.
Club members say one of the best things about joining the Kiwanis is that nothing is mandatory, including the club’s four monthly meetings. These meetings include speakers, action meetings to discuss upcoming events and one evening social event.

Los Gatos High School Athletic Director Ken Perrotti has been named the California High School Athletic Director of the Year.
The award is presented by the California State Athletic Directors Association (CSADA) and recognizes exemplary leadership, service and commitment to education-based athletics. Perrotti was selected after being named Central Coast Section Athletic Director of the Year in 2024.
Perrotti has served LGHS in multiple roles for almost two decades, including as a special education teacher and wrestling coach, and has been the school’s athletic director since 2017, transitioning the position to full time in 2022. Under his leadership, athletic participation at LGHS has grown year over year, including the addition of competitive cheer and girls flag football.
Perrotti manages more than 1,100 athletic events annually and leads fundraising and community partnerships that support athletic programs at the high school. He currently serves as chairperson of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League Athletic Directors Council and is an active member of CSADA, the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, the California Coaches Association and the Santa Clara County Charlie Wedemeyer All Star Football Game Committee.
He will be presented with his award at the CSADA Awards Banquet in April.
