SUNNYVALE – An investigation is underway into the shooting death of a woman Wednesday night in Sunnyvale, authorities said.
The shooting happened around 9:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of Vienna Drive, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said in a news release. Officers arrived to find the woman inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office will release her identity after it is confirmed and her next of kin is notified.
The suspect left the scene before officers arrived and remains at large, authorities said. Authorities did not release a description of the suspect.
